Hélène Gestern (Nancy, 1971) publicó su primera novela, «Eux sur la photo», en 2011, por la que recibió numerosos premios y que fue un gran éxito entre los lectores. Interesada en los archivos, los legados, la historia de la fotografía y la escritura autobiográfica, estos temas han articulado siempre su obra. Entre sus libros cabe destacar «El olor del bosque» (Periférica & Errata naturae, 2020), «La part du feu» (2013), «Portrait d’après blessure» (2014), «Un vertige» (2017) y «Arman» (2020), que se han traducido a varias lenguas. Además de escribir, es profesora e investigadora en la Universidad de Lorena.
