About the Author Louis Althusser (1918-1990) took his degree in philosophy in the Ecole Normale Supérieure and later became Secrétaire of the school. He is the author of several books including The Future Lasts Forever, Montesquieu, le Politique et l'Historie, For Marx, and Reading Capital.
